The Hospital Asthma Severity Score (HASS) is a bedside scoring system used to assess the severity of an acute asthma exacerbation, especially in children. HASS is meant to track response to treatment over time, not just give a one-time severity label. HASS is often used alongside clinical judgment and other clinical findings (e.g. pulse oximetry and blood gases).
